The dating pregnancy ultrasound scan is being used to detect the gestation age of the baby, something very useful for women who are uncertain of their last period or have irregular menstrual cycles and therefore making it difficult for their doctor to correctly estimate when the baby is due.
This pregnancy scan also is known as viability scan can provide the very much needed reassurance that the pregnancy is progressing normally and it is not ectopic.
Unfortunately, dating pregnancy scans are not routinely offered in the NHS and our expectant mothers choose to have their ultrasound scan with us for peace of mind
Same-day slots are often available, particularly for urgent cases such as bleeding or pain. Call us directly on 020 3633 4902 and we will do our best to accommodate you today.
Free cancellation or rescheduling up to 24 hours before your appointment. Cancellations within 24 hours may incur a fee. Contact us on 020 3633 4902 or info@sonoworld.co.uk.
You will receive an immediate email confirmation with your appointment date, time, and preparation instructions. Check your junk folder if it does not arrive within a few minutes.
Drink 3–4 glasses of water 1 hour before your appointment. Wear comfortable, two-piece clothing. Bring your LMP date or embryo transfer date and any previous scan reports.
Arrive at 29 Weymouth Street 10 minutes before your appointment. Our reception team will greet you. Your partner is welcome in the waiting area and scan room.
Your HCPC-registered sonographer takes a brief history, then performs the scan. You will see your baby's heartbeat on screen, receive your estimated due date, and get printed photos to take home.
Findings are discussed straight away. You receive your EDD based on CRL measurement, printed photos, and a verbal explanation of everything seen. A written report is available on request for your GP or midwife.
You receive guidance on your next scan — the NHS 12-week anomaly scan, a gender scan from 16 weeks, or a follow-up if any concerns were identified. We are available by phone or email for any questions after your appointment.
