Pride is coming to London on 7th July.

local-london-community

The Pride in London parade is an event to raise awareness to the world about issues affecting every part of London’s LGBT+ community (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, questioning, intersex, non-binary, asexual polysexual, genderqueer and gender variant people).

The parade is the biggest LGBT+ parade in the UK with thousands of people’s traveling to London and last year pulled an estimated crowd of nearly 1 million people.

Pride in London is run entirely by volunteers with support from the Mayor of London, Westminster City Council, the Metropolitan Police, Transport for London, the London Fire Brigade and the London Ambulance Service.

Alongside the parade they will be multiple events scheduled in various locations in London:

Trafalgar Square Stage, where the parade will finish has confirmed multiple famous guests such as Sophie Ellis-Bextor and The Mayor of London.

Women’s Stage in Leicester Square has confirmed some great acts such as Heather Peace and Betty and Sinitta.

Cabaret Stage in the heart of Soho on Dean Street has confirmed multiple colourful and entertaining performances. Various roaming performances will also be around the streets of Soho.

Golden Square family stage is catered for children and families with multiple talented performers and activities including face painting, a unicorn bouncy castle, a bubble area, a Lego pit and a treasure hunt.

Community Villas in Soho Square is the heart of the LGBTQ+ London community and there will be a platform for charity and not for profit groups. There are at least 30 stalls which include the Mosaic LGBT Youth Centre, Mermaids, Terrence Higgins Trust, LGBT+ Switchboard, Cancer Research UK and of course Pride in London's very own Community Engagement team.

London in Pride Parade route

The London Parade will be forming on Portland Place and start from New Cavendish Street, passing through Portland Place until Oxford Circus, then through Regents Street, Waterloo Place, Pall Mall, Cockspur Street and into Whitehall.

Although the parade will not be passing through our private scan clinic in Harley Street, there will be multiple road closures and parking suspicions in the area. There will also be congestions in London travel network not only on the tube stations such as Oxford Street, Great Portland Street, and Regents Park but also on mainline terminals such as London Paddington station, Victoria station and Marylebone Station.

If you have therefore booked a private ultrasound on Saturday 7th of July you need to allow extra traveling time and maybe allow some extra time after your private ultrasound scan to enjoy the fun field atmosphere in central London.
