A comprehensive cardiovascular health assessment in a single visit — echocardiogram, carotid artery scan, and AAA screening combined. CQC-registered Harley Street clinic, no GP referral required, written report within 24 hours.
Instant verbal results. Written report within 24 hours.
Most serious cardiovascular events — heart attacks, strokes, sudden cardiac death — do not arrive without warning. They arrive after years of silent, progressive changes to your heart's structure, arterial health, and vascular system. These changes rarely cause noticeable symptoms until they reach a critical threshold.
Our cardiovascular screening package provides a complete picture of your cardiac and vascular health in a single visit, combining three complementary diagnostic assessments that together cover what no single test can address alone. All scans are performed by HCPC-registered specialist sonographers using high-resolution GE ultrasound equipment.
Three complementary assessments — cardiac structure, arterial health, and aortic risk — delivered in a single 60–90 minute appointment.
A detailed ultrasound of the heart assessing cardiac chambers, valves, wall motion, and ejection fraction. The gold-standard investigation for heart murmurs, palpitations, cardiomyopathy, and breathlessness. Also available as a standalone appointment.
Doppler ultrasound of the carotid arteries measuring arterial wall thickness (intima-media thickness) and detecting atherosclerotic plaque — a strong independent predictor of stroke and future cardiovascular events. Also available as a standalone appointment.
Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) screening — a quick, painless ultrasound that measures the diameter of the aorta. Recommended for men over 65 and anyone with a family history of aortic aneurysm or cardiovascular risk factors. Also available as a standalone appointment.
This package is designed for adults who want a comprehensive, proactive assessment of their cardiovascular health — particularly those with risk factors that increase the likelihood of silent cardiovascular disease.
Our specialist sonographer takes a brief clinical history, including your symptoms, risk factors, family history, and any previous cardiac investigations. This ensures the examination is tailored to your clinical picture.
Gel is applied to your chest and the sonographer performs a systematic assessment of your heart using a high-resolution GE ultrasound probe — assessing chambers, valves, wall motion, and ejection fraction.
The carotid arteries in the neck are assessed using Doppler ultrasound, followed by an abdominal scan to measure the aortic diameter. Both assessments are quick and painless.
Your sonographer provides immediate verbal feedback covering all three assessments. A comprehensive written report with risk stratification is emailed within 24 hours and can be shared with your GP or cardiologist.
Individual scans are also available as standalone appointments: Echocardiogram · Carotid Doppler · Aortic Aneurysm Scan — each at £235.
No. You can self-refer directly online or by calling 020 3633 4902. No GP referral is required for any of our cardiovascular scans or screening packages.
Yes. The echocardiogram performed at Sonoworld uses the same diagnostic ultrasound technology as NHS cardiac imaging departments. It is performed by an HCPC-registered specialist sonographer using high-resolution GE ultrasound equipment. The written report is clinically equivalent and accepted by NHS cardiologists and GPs.
The combined appointment typically takes 60–90 minutes, depending on the complexity of the echocardiogram. You will receive immediate verbal feedback at the end of the appointment.
The cardiovascular screening package focuses on cardiac structure (echocardiogram), carotid arterial health, and aortic aneurysm risk. The stroke screening package is specifically focused on cerebrovascular risk assessment. If you are unsure which package is right for you, call our team for advice.
Yes. You can book on behalf of a family member or partner. Please ensure the patient's details are entered correctly at the time of booking. The patient must attend in person for the scan.
