About Hootan Mohsenian
Hootan Mohsenian is a highly experienced specialist echocardiographer with over 15 years of full-time echocardiography practice in the United Kingdom, in addition to six years of echocardiography experience as a medical doctor in Iran. He holds a Medical Doctorate, a postgraduate MSc in Medical Imaging Science (Echocardiography) from Imperial College London, and an MRes in Clinical Imaging Science from King's College London, and is fully accredited by the British Society of Echocardiography (BSE).
Hootan brings a rare combination of medical training and advanced cardiac imaging expertise to every echocardiogram he performs. Having trained and worked across some of the United Kingdom's leading cardiac centres — including the Heart Hospital London (UCLH), Hammersmith Hospital, Southampton General Hospital, and Lister Hospital, Stevenage — he is accustomed to assessing complex cardiac presentations in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including intensive care and coronary care environments.
His clinical approach is patient-centred: he takes the time to understand each patient's symptoms and medical history before performing the scan, discusses findings clearly during the appointment, and provides a full written report in accordance with BSE guidelines. Patients attending Sonoworld for a private echocardiogram are in the hands of a clinician whose depth of experience spans transthoracic echocardiography (TTE), transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE), stress echocardiography, 3D echocardiography, contrast and bubble studies, and speckle tracking research techniques.
