About This Package

What Is the Bronze Health Screen?

The Bronze Health Screening Blood Test is our foundational package — a comprehensive baseline assessment of your health across the key organ systems and metabolic markers most likely to reveal early-stage disease or risk factors. It is designed for adults who want a thorough health overview without the complexity of advanced hormone or cancer marker panels.

All results are processed by an accredited laboratory and reviewed by a Sonoworld clinician before being released to you. You receive a written report with personalised recommendations — not just a list of numbers — within 48 hours of your appointment.

The Bronze package is ideal for:
  • Adults aged 35+ seeking a proactive health baseline.
  • Anyone who has not had a comprehensive blood test in the past 12 months.
  • Patients with a family history of diabetes, heart disease, or kidney disease.
  • Those experiencing unexplained fatigue, weight changes, or poor sleep.
  • Anyone seeking a pre-employment or insurance health assessment.
  • Patients who want to track key health markers over time.
What’s Included

Bronze Package — Full Biomarker List

Blood & Immune

Full Blood Count (FBC)

Red blood cells, white blood cells, haemoglobin, haematocrit, platelets, and differential white cell count. Identifies anaemia, infection, inflammation, and haematological disorders.

Liver Health

Liver Function Tests (LFTs)

ALT, AST, ALP, GGT, bilirubin, albumin, and total protein. Assesses liver health and identifies fatty liver disease, alcohol-related liver damage, and hepatic dysfunction.

Kidney Health

Kidney Function (U&Es, eGFR)

Urea, creatinine, electrolytes (sodium, potassium, chloride, bicarbonate), and estimated glomerular filtration rate. Detects early chronic kidney disease before symptoms develop.

Metabolic Health

Fasting Glucose & HbA1c

Fasting blood glucose provides a snapshot of current blood sugar levels. HbA1c reflects average blood glucose over the preceding 3 months — the gold standard for diagnosing pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes.

Cardiovascular Risk

Full Lipid Profile

Total cholesterol, HDL (good) cholesterol, LDL (bad) cholesterol, non-HDL cholesterol, and triglycerides. Used to calculate cardiovascular risk and guide statin or lifestyle intervention decisions.

Thyroid

Thyroid Function (TSH)

Thyroid-stimulating hormone is the primary screening marker for hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism — conditions affecting 1 in 20 adults, frequently causing fatigue, weight changes, mood disturbance, and hair loss.

Also included in the Bronze package:
  • Vitamin D (25-OH) — deficiency is extremely common in the UK and associated with fatigue, bone pain, immune dysfunction, and mood disorders.
  • Vitamin B12 & Folate — essential for neurological function and red blood cell production; deficiency causes anaemia and peripheral neuropathy.
  • Iron Studies & Ferritin — serum iron, TIBC, transferrin saturation, and ferritin; identifies iron deficiency anaemia and iron overload (haemochromatosis).
  • Clinician-reviewed written report — all results reviewed and interpreted by a Sonoworld clinician with personalised recommendations.

How It Works

Your Bronze Screening Appointment

1Brief Health History

Our clinician takes a brief health history including your symptoms, risk factors, family history, and current medications to ensure results are interpreted in context.

2Blood Sample Collection

A trained phlebotomist collects your blood sample — typically 3–4 tubes. The procedure takes approximately 10 minutes in a comfortable, private clinical room.

3Laboratory Analysis

Your sample is processed by an accredited laboratory. Results are typically available within 48 hours and reviewed by a clinician before release.

4Clinician-Reviewed Written Report

You receive a written report with all results interpreted and personalised recommendations. Abnormal results are flagged with clear guidance on next steps.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a GP referral for the Bronze health screen?

No. You can self-refer directly online or by calling 020 3633 4902. No GP referral is required.

Is the Bronze package enough for a comprehensive health check?

The Bronze package covers the most clinically important biomarkers for general health — the same markers that would be checked in a standard NHS health review, plus additional nutritional markers. It is an excellent starting point. If you have specific health concerns (hormonal symptoms, cardiovascular risk factors, or a family history of cancer), the Silver or Gold packages provide a more targeted assessment.

How are my results delivered?

Results are available within 48 hours of your appointment. You receive a clinician-reviewed written report by email, with all results interpreted and personalised recommendations. Abnormal results are flagged with clear guidance on next steps, including whether to see your GP or a specialist.

Can I combine the Bronze blood test with an ultrasound scan?

Yes. Many patients combine a health screening blood test with one of our ultrasound screening packages for a comprehensive same-day health assessment. Please call 020 3633 4902 to arrange a combined appointment.

What happens if a result is abnormal?

Abnormal results are reviewed by our clinician and clearly flagged in your written report with an explanation of the finding and recommended next steps — whether that is a repeat test, a GP referral, or a specialist consultation. We do not simply send you a list of numbers without context.
