Can ultrasound tell me if a lump is cancerous?
Ultrasound can characterise the nature of a lump — its size, shape, internal structure and vascularity — and determine whether it is likely benign (such as a lipoma or simple cyst) or requires further investigation. Your sonographer will explain the findings and advise on next steps. A definitive diagnosis of malignancy requires biopsy or further imaging.
Is my appointment confidential?
Yes. Appointments and reports are handled in full compliance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and nothing is shared with your GP or any third party without your written consent.
