Here is exactly what to expect from the moment you confirm your booking to receiving your written report.
You will receive an immediate booking confirmation by email with your appointment date, time, and clinic address. Check your junk folder if it does not arrive within a few minutes.
No fasting or preparation needed. Avoid applying lotion to the breast area on the day. Wear a two-piece outfit. Bring any previous imaging reports if you have them.
29 Weymouth Street, Marylebone, W1G 7DB. Arrive 5 minutes early to complete a short clinical history form. The clinic is a 5-minute walk from Regent’s Park and Great Portland Street stations.
Daniela will take a brief history, then perform the scan. Ultrasound gel is applied to the skin and the probe is moved systematically across the breast tissue. Colour Doppler is used to assess any identified lesion. The axillary lymph nodes are also assessed. The examination takes 20–30 minutes.
Daniela explains findings as the scan progresses and provides a clear verbal summary at the end. You leave knowing what was found and what it means — no waiting for a letter or a follow-up GP appointment.
A detailed written report including BI-RADS classification, lesion measurements, and recommended next steps is sent to you the same day. You can share this directly with your GP, oncologist, or breast surgeon.
No. You can book directly online or by calling 020 3633 4902. A GP referral letter is not required. If you have one, bring it along as it provides useful clinical context — but it is not a prerequisite for booking or attending.
If you have a specific symptom in one breast — a lump, pain, or discharge — the unilateral scan at £235 is appropriate. If you want a complete screening assessment of both breasts, or if you have breast implants, the bilateral scan at £350 gives you a full picture. If you are unsure, call 020 3633 4902 and we will advise you before you book.
Sonoworld accepts AXA Health, AXA Global, Healix, and WPA insurance. Contact your insurer before booking to obtain an authorisation number, then bring it to your appointment. If you are unsure whether your policy covers breast ultrasound, call us on 020 3633 4902 and we can help you confirm.
Appointments can be cancelled or rescheduled up to 24 hours before your appointment time at no charge. Cancellations made within 24 hours may incur a cancellation fee. To reschedule, call 020 3633 4902 as soon as possible.
