    Common Questions

    Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about contacting us, visiting the clinic, and booking appointments.

Do I need a GP referral to book a scan?
No. You can book any scan at Sonoworld directly, without a GP referral. Simply call us, email, or use our online booking system. If you do have a GP referral letter, please bring it to your appointment as it provides useful clinical context for your sonographer.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
Same-day and next-day appointments are frequently available. Call us on 020 3633 4902 to check current availability, or use our online booking system to see available slots in real time. We are open Monday to Saturday, 8:00–20:00.
How do I cancel or reschedule my appointment?
Please call us on 020 3633 4902 or email info@sonoworld.co.uk as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule. We ask for at least 24 hours' notice where possible so that we can offer the slot to another patient. Our cancellation policy is outlined in your booking confirmation email.
Is there parking near the clinic?
Yes. Paid parking is available on Weymouth Street and at the Cavendish Square car park, both within a short walk of 9 Harley Street. Please note that the clinic is within the London Congestion Charge zone, which applies Monday to Friday, 7:00–18:00. We recommend travelling by public transport where possible — Regent's Park tube station is just a 3-minute walk.
Can I walk in without an appointment?
We operate by appointment only to ensure each patient receives the full attention of their sonographer without waiting. Same-day appointments are often available — please call us on 020 3633 4902 to check. We are unable to guarantee availability for walk-in patients.
How long will it take to receive a response to my enquiry?
We aim to respond to all email and contact form enquiries within 2 hours during clinic hours (Monday–Saturday, 8:00–20:00). For urgent enquiries, we recommend calling us directly on 020 3633 4902 for an immediate response.
Can I request my scan report to be sent to my GP?
Yes. Your written report can be sent directly to your GP, specialist, or any other healthcare provider you nominate. Please provide their contact details at the time of booking or during your appointment. Reports are typically issued within 24 hours of your scan.
Is the clinic accessible for wheelchair users?
Yes. The clinic is on the ground floor and is fully accessible for wheelchair users and patients with limited mobility. If you have any specific accessibility requirements, please let us know when booking and we will ensure everything is arranged for your visit.
