No special preparation is required. You do not need to fast, adjust your medications, or do anything specific before arriving. The scan takes 15–30 minutes and is entirely painless.
Eat and drink normally before your appointment. No dietary restrictions apply to a testicular ultrasound-scan.
Take all regular medications at their usual times. No medication adjustments are needed before the scan.
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. You will be asked to undress from the waist down and provided with a drape for privacy.
Bring any prior ultrasound reports, GP letters, or referral documents if you have them. If using medical insurance, bring your authorisation code and insurer name.
Urgent concern? If you have sudden severe scrotal pain, rapid swelling, or a fever alongside scrotal symptoms, go to A&E or call 999 immediately — these may indicate testicular torsion, which requires emergency surgery within hours.
From the moment you confirm your slot to receiving your written report, here is exactly what to expect.
You will receive an immediate booking confirmation with your appointment time, clinic address, and preparation reminders.
The clinic is at 9 Harley Street, Marylebone. Arrive 5–10 minutes early to complete a brief intake form. No fasting or special preparation is needed.
Your sonographer will ask about your symptoms, any prior imaging, and relevant medical history. This takes 2–3 minutes and helps focus the scan.
You lie on the examination couch. A small amount of warm gel is applied and the sonographer uses a handheld probe to examine both testes, epididymides, and surrounding structures. The scan takes 15–30 minutes and is completely painless.
Your sonographer explains the findings immediately after the scan. You can ask questions and discuss next steps before you leave the clinic.
A comprehensive written report with annotated ultrasound images is sent directly to you and, with your consent, to your GP or referring specialist within 24 hours of your appointment.

Daniela holds an MSc in Medical Ultrasound and has over 20 years of clinical experience across NHS and private practice. She specialises in musculoskeletal, vascular, and soft tissue ultrasound, including testicular and scrotal assessment. All scans are reported in accordance with BAUS and EAU guidelines.
Every report is written personally by Daniela and includes annotated images, a clinical summary, and — where relevant — a clear recommendation for follow-up or onward referral.

The £235 fee is all-inclusive. It covers the full bilateral testicular and epididymal assessment, colour Doppler blood flow imaging, verbal feedback from your sonographer during the appointment, and a comprehensive written report with annotated images delivered within 24 hours. The report is shared with your GP or specialist at no extra charge. There are no hidden fees.
