No GP referral is required for any scan at Sonoworld. You can book directly online using the diary on each scan page, or by calling the clinic on 020 3633 4902. If you do have a referral letter, bring it to your appointment — it provides useful clinical context.

How quickly can I get an appointment?+

Same-day and next-day appointments are available for most scans. The online booking diary shows real-time availability. If you need an urgent appointment, call the clinic directly and the team will prioritise you where possible.

Does Sonoworld accept insurance?+

Sonoworld works with most major private health insurers. If your scan is covered by insurance, you will need a pre-authorisation code from your insurer before the appointment. Contact your insurer in advance to confirm coverage and obtain the authorisation code, then bring it to your appointment.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?+

Bring your insurance authorisation code (if applicable), any previous scan reports or imaging relevant to your condition, and a list of current medications. Specific preparation instructions — such as fasting or attending with a full bladder — will be included in your confirmation email and vary by scan type.

Can I bring someone with me to my appointment?+

Yes. You are welcome to bring a partner, family member, or support person to your appointment. For pregnancy scans in particular, partners are actively encouraged to attend.

When will I receive my scan report?+

Your written report with annotated ultrasound images is sent digitally on the same day as your scan. You also receive immediate verbal feedback during the appointment so you leave with a clear understanding of the findings.
